Sugarcane Impacts Study Wins Best Agricultural Paper Award at ISSCT 28th Congress in Brazil

A paper entitled “Predicting climate change impacts on sugarcane production at sites in Australia, Brazil and South Africa using the Canegro model” (by Singels, Jones, Marin , Ruane and Thorburn) won the “James E. Irvine Award for Best Paper in the Agriculture Commission” at the 28th Congress of the International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The study followed AgMIP protocols for weather data generation and assessed methodology aspects of predicting climate change impacts on sugarcane production.
