Drs. Cynthia Rosenzweig, Jim Jones, John Antle, and Jerry Hatfield have been selected as the 2015 ASA Presidential Award recipients. They are being recognized because under their joint vision and leadership, the AgMIP team has dramatically increased the coordination, transparency, and scientific rigor of agronomic modeling to address the pressing challenges of global change.
This award is given to those who have influenced agronomic sciences or crop production practices so greatly that the impact of their efforts will be enduring on future science. Their work may have enhanced the yield or quality of crops, improved production practices to limit agricultural impact on the environment or increase water/nutrient efficiencies, provided break-through techniques or unique materials for progress by others, or enhanced our understanding of some aspect of crop growth or stress that would be foundational to increase crop yield or quality. The fundamental criterion is that their influence be so lasting and important in agronomic sciences that their impact will be long lasting.
The team will be recognized during the 2015 Annual Meeting in Minneapolis at the ASA Breakfast, Awards, and Plenary (York Lecture) on Monday, Nov. 16 at 7:00am at the Hilton Minneapolis.
Congratulations from all of AgMIP!
